The reason I started bodybuilding is...

I started bodybuilding for sports. I needed to get bigger to compete. I soon realized after putting on 35 pounds in a year and a half that I could take this somewhere. My love for the weights grew more and more with each workout.

The person I most wanted to be when I started was...

It’s funny; when I first started training, I never wanted to be like anyone. I was really into sports at the time. But as time passed, I’ve really strived for the Jay Cutler, Tom Platz, or even Kevin Levrone look. They have really been an inspiration for my goals and training.

The person I owe the most to is...

My friend Andrew McInroy. When I first started training hard in university, he always said I had a future and was going places, even though I was only about 200 pounds at the time. Since then, he has always been there with me and doesn’t stop keeping me focused. Next would be Mike Johnson. He was the first “big shot” bodybuilder that believed in me. He’s always seen what I’ve been capable of and made me more hungry for bigger and better things. I’ve learned a lot of wisdom from him, and in this industry, I’ll take what I can get. Of course, I can’t thank Santana enough for helping me with this opportunity but also for being very encouraging and supportive. All three of these individuals have really helped me be more confident and set higher goals for myself.

The supplements I can’t live without are...

I can’t live without my whey protein, AGENT•M, nitric oxide and PURPLE•K!

The best thing about training is...

The best thing about training is heavy-ass deadlifts or squats. There’s no better feeling than getting psyched up for five or six plates a side on the bar and just looking at that bar and going up and lifting it. No better rush!

Two things I would change about bodybuilding are...

Two things I’d change are longer posing routines and way more advertising for shows to get more people out and involved.

My ultimate goal is...

My ultimate goal would be a pro card.

One thing every gym rat should know is...

Every gym rat should know this: No curling in the squat rack!

Years I’ve been training...

I’ve been training for four years.

The last new bodybuilding thing I learned is...

The last new bodybuilding thing I learned would be sissy squats … and they are hard.

The one question I’d ask a pro is...

“What time do you wanna train at, and are you ready to get outlifted?”

What I enjoy most about competing is...

The thing I enjoy about competing is the feeling of being accomplished and being productive in changing and transforming your body, and overcoming the adversity that comes with the challenge.
