Insights
- The reason I started bodybuilding is...
I was an overweight teen with a strong desire to get in shape. In my quest for reaching the perfect physique, I always want more and more, and I strive to push myself to reach my full potential. It has become a competition against myself.
- The person I most wanted to be when I started was...
There wasn’t a specific person. Mostly, I wanted to be the person that I wasn’t, and bodybuilding has helped me realize that dream.
- The person I owe the most to is...
I owe my entire family. My mom and dad were a huge support team in the beginning. My mom would help cook my food, and my dad would do cardio with me, even at 5 a.m. in the rain. Thanks, Dad. Now that I’m married, my wife supports me in my choice to bodybuild, and I strive to make my two beautiful daughters proud by doing well at shows. Even though I am the only one on that stage, I wouldn’t be there without their help and continued support.
- The supplements I can’t live without are...
Whey protein, GLUTAMEND after every cardio and workout, BCAAs in the form of my favorite purple drink (AGENT•M), and a good thermogenic such as SUB•Q when dieting.
- The best thing about training is...
Training is my drug. I am always chasing that perfect workout – always chasing the hardest one I have ever had to get that feeling of accomplishment!
- Two things I would change about bodybuilding are...
- I wish that bodybuilding was more understood by the general public. Why do we get so many questions about drinking out of a gallon jug or what we are eating out of our Tupperware?
- I think it would be nice if genetics were not such a major factor and results were based more on hard work and discipline.
- My ultimate goal is...
I want to accomplish the best physique I am capable of.
- One thing every gym rat should know is...
Consistency, consistency, consistency.
- Years I’ve been training...
12
- The last new bodybuilding thing I learned is...
Progress is not always defined by moving forward, but sometimes it means not moving backwards!
- The one question I’d ask a pro is...
What do I need to do to get better?
- What I enjoy most about competing is...
The competition within myself to be better at each show.
- The thing I hate most about stepping up onstage is...
The spray tan. I enjoy nothing about getting sprayed, the smell, the stains on the sheets, the dirty look of the skin for the next week, etc.
- The first thing I’ll do after getting my pro card is...
Considering this is immediately after the night show, drink a gallon of water and eat a cheeseburger and fries!
- The reason I signed up with FUSION is...
They have the same desire for bodybuilding as I do, they have created a strong product that is made for a hardcore bodybuilder, and they truly care about what’s best for their FUSION athletes.
- I’m looking forward to being a FUSION athlete because...
I will have a strong support team behind me, access to the strongest supplements available, and the ability to share my passion with others.
